First Night at Apt.5

Jan. 29, 2009

Lastnight I didn't sleep very well because my mattress is rock hard. Today we had a "survival" tour which was basically a tour of stores, cafes and the streets. It was fairly helpful but the most helpful thing was when I asked the woman Silvia where I could find foam pads for mattresses. She brought us to a store where the shop owner said, "Ahh I know what Americans want when they ask this" and he brought us out mattress pads. Thank goodness. We also got towels there. After the tour we went and bought internet for our apt. SO worth the money! We spent some time online and then got lunch at a cute little cafe down the road. I spent the afternoon getting ready for the night and met up with Cat and Tiana at their apt. where they cooked rigatoni bolognese with salad. The olive oil here is ridiculous, I love it! I already know I'll seriously miss it once I'm back in the U.S. Then we went to Twice again. We met the owner Niccolo (sweetest man alive!) It was really busy though so we stayed until around 2 and then came home.
